Principal's Message

Greetings Amelia Earhart Students & Families!

Welcome to the 2019/2020 school year! Let me begin by saying that it is an honor to serve our community as the newest Amelia Earhart Middle School Principal! I am thrilled to join you as we continue to achieve  the excellence of which AEMS is renowned.

Please allow me to briefly introduce myself … I am Amanda Chann and this is my twenty-fourth year in education! For the past nine years, I have been an administrator in Redlands, Rancho Cucamonga and my last three have been at Martin Luther King High School. Prior to that I was an English teacher for thirteen years. My experiences in education have taught me that the strength of any school lies in its community, and, I believe, school communities encompass all staff as well as students & their families, and alumnae.

Amelia Earhart Middle School prides itself on its hallmark Core Values, WEB program and AVID National Demonstration Site status. Our staff provides students a variety of rigorous academic experiences both in the classroom and through several extra-curricular activities such as clubs, sports, color guard, band, choir, yearbook, ASB, and Spirit Squad. These opportunities enable us to be successful as we to meet the social, emotional and academic needs of Every Student, Every Day.

One of the first things I noticed about Amelia Earhart Middle School is the community commitment to ensuring our school is welcoming, safe, and excellence driven. It is my goal that our Core Values of Honesty, Achieving Excellence, Work Ethic, Kindness, and Serving Others continue to be the focus of what we teach here at Amelia Earhart Middle School and that you will join us as we guide our wonderful students into wonderful adults.

My door is always open. I encourage you to drop in to say hello or share your concerns; and I look forward to serving you as the newest Hawk!

Amanda Chann
